Why Your Support Matters
The Slat Lkahal Synagogue stands above the main alley of the Mellah, in the northern part of the Medina of Essaouira. It is a symbol of the centuries-old Jewish presence in Mogador. The preliminary restoration phases — roof repair of the prayer hall in 2011–2012 and cleaning and restoration of the main facade in 2013–2014 — were made possible by the support of donors and members. Continued contributions will allow the project to advance toward its goal: a fully restored synagogue housing four permanent exhibition halls dedicated to the building's unique heritage.
